“Parents have a prior right to choose the kind of education that shall be given to their children.” - Universal Declaration of Human Rights - Article 26.3
Did you know that 92% of Canadian parents have access to publicly funded educational choice? All normal democracies fund school choice, including virtually all European countries. In light of current issues, many parents feel uncomfortable not having a choice regarding the education of their children. Parents feel that they are "paying for the privilege" of having their children exposed to values or ideologies which are in conflict with their families, culture, religion or beliefs. Such cultural conflicts can create stress and harm for many children. It is the parents' responsibility and right to determine what is in their child's best interest. The PRC supports parents' rights as defined in The Convention Against Discrimination in Education.
It is our desire to organize and facilitate healthy, factual and appropriate discussions around the rights and roles of parents, educators and governments.
